Our aim is to constantly hold stock of our ‘key products’ all year round

Crazywater - Our History
Our roots are firmly in watersports and we have a long history linked to what we regard as the ‘genuine’ brands who originally grew out of a need for functional products for better days on beaches, boards, boats and oceans.
We opened a specialist windsurf shop locally in 1987 and over the years we developed strong partnerships with the world's best watersport companies and usually the individuals that ran them. O’Neill dates back to the 1950’s and Jack even registered the US trademark ‘Surf Shop’ which is really where it all began. The industry seems to have moved on a bit since then!!
The hardcore voice of Australian surfing arrived in the 1960’s as Rip Curl and Quiksilver were born following on with Billabong in the early ‘70s. In ’87 Ross and Angus were recently arrived from South Africa, showing us the stunning ‘Creatures’ artwork that turned into the opening print for ‘Saltrock’. The boys chose North Devon for waves and are surfing still.
In the late ‘80s clothing ranges by Hot Tuna, Ocean Pacific and Gotcha were in the shop for a while. A year after we started Animal arrived with their first product, a velcro watchstrap, aimed at board riders. Between ’88 and now the Animal legend has grown and grown.
By the end of the ‘80s we had a second windsurf shop and had created the ‘Surf Division’. By the early ‘90s it was a natural change to the full on ‘Surf Shop’ plus a strong mail order operation. Crazywater was created in 1996 which took us into Bournemouth town centre.
This saw the arrival of Headworx, V Dolls and Realm to name but a few of the ‘new players.’ We are constantly testing other brands and products and many have come and gone over the years.

Within two years Crazywater had also evolved into our Highcliffe store which takes us back to our statement,
‘Crazywater is a retailer of top quality watersports equipment and clothing.’
